Max Beck (AO)
Chairman, Founder, and Philanthropist
Max Beck is a respected property developer, entrepreneur, and prominent Australian philanthropist, whose career is defined by building landmark projects and giving back to the community. His guiding philosophy is simple: “Life’s about putting back.”
Max began his career as an apprentice carpenter and established Becton, co-founding what became a highly successful property development, construction, and investment company, setting the stage for his subsequent successes in the property industry.
Today Max and the Beck family are joint partners in the Essendon Fields development (with the Fox family), a dynamic commercial, aviation, and retail precinct that continues to drive significant economic growth and urban revitalisation in Melbourne.
Max Beck’s enduring contribution to the community is a central part of his life’s work, and in recognition of this Max was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in June 2018 for his distinguished service to the construction and property development industries and to the community through fundraising and executive roles in a range of organisations and charities.

Lorraine Beck
Director and Co-Chair, BECK Family Foundation
Lorraine Beck is a Director and Co-Chair of the BECK Family Foundation, where her strategic counsel is instrumental in guiding the organisation’s extensive philanthropic portfolio. With a dedicated partnership to Max Beck spanning almost 60 years, she provides unrelenting support and guidance in all matters, including those related to the Foundation’s mission.
As a principal figure in the Foundation, Lorraine plays a vital role in defining and executing the family’s charitable legacy, with a long-standing commitment to the Melbourne community. The Foundation’s philanthropic endeavours are centred on improving community health-related outcomes, a focus demonstrated by significant support for major institutions such as the Alfred Hospital and the $1 billion redevelopment of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The Foundation’s commitment is characterised by both substantial financial contributions and the strategic deployment of the family’s professional expertise, specifically in property-related reconstruction for significant community outcomes.
Lorraine’s wise counsel across all family and philanthropic matters is integral to ensuring the Foundation’s work continues to make a meaningful impact, driving the next phase of philanthropic contributions to the community.

Sam Beck
Managing Director — BECK Property Group
From the age of two, Sam frequented building sites with his father, Max Beck, where he played in piles of brick sand with his trucks. From these early days, the foundations were laid for a love of construction. He went on to work as an apprentice carpenter, a background that underpins his reputation for being a ‘hands-on’ developer.
With over thirty years of experience in the industry, Sam is a leader in the development field. As the Managing Director of BECK Property Group, he oversees the creation of visionary, boutique inner-city projects across Melbourne. His expertise has been instrumental in significant projects, including the billion-dollar Caulfield Village development.
Sam’s work with BECK Property Group focuses on designing high-quality residences in strategic locations that not only stand the test of time but also create and integrate communities into the existing urban fabric.

Nick Beck
Managing Director — Deepfields Rural
Nick Beck brings a powerful blend of property development expertise and a passion for large-scale agricultural ventures to the Beck Corporation team.
After many successful years in the property sector, including significant work in real estate marketing and development (most notably as Principal of Beck Projects, which co-developed the Waterside apartments in Port Melbourne), Nick decided to pivot his focus. He made a deliberate move to rural Victoria to dedicate his energy to high-end farming enterprises.
As Managing Director of Deepfields Rural, Nick is spearheading the restoration of one of Victoria’s premier properties (Deepfields, a historic 690-acre property with a distinguished history in Poll Hereford and Dorset Horn Studs). His vision is to transform the property into a comprehensive, modern farming operation dedicated to high quality beef cattle breeding.

In 2014, Carla established her own studio, Carla Dinnage Ceramics, a venture focused on her lifelong passion for handcrafted, unique ceramic designs. Working from her home studio in Melbourne, she is the sole creator of her sought-after homewares, employing methods such as building, coiling, and hand-painting with underglazes on a stoneware-earthenware blend clay. In 2022, she expanded her business to include a more affordable ‘Designed by Carla’ range.
Carla divides her time between her business, raising her four children, and chairing the Beck Family Foundation.
